Understanding a new system can feel overwhelming  especially when it involves important life supports and long-term planning.
As a registered NDIS provider, I Am Institute has the experience, knowledge, and compassion to help participants and families navigate the NDIS with confidence.

What is the NDIS?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides funding to Australians living with a significant and permanent disability, along with their families and carers.
Its goal is simple: to help people access the supports they need to live an ordinary, fulfilling, and independent life.

When fully implemented, the NDIS will support hundreds of thousands of Australians under the age of 65 who require ongoing assistance.

How does it work?

The NDIS focuses on choice, control, and flexibility.
Participants work with the NDIA (the government agency that administers the scheme) to create a personalised support plan tailored to their needs, goals, and daily challenges.

Under the NDIS, participants can decide:

What supports they receive

When the supports are delivered

Who delivers those supports

How they want their goals to be achieved

At I Am Institute, our support team walks alongside individuals and their families, helping them:

understand their NDIS plan

identify their personal goals

choose the best support options

build the skills they need to live confidently and independently

We focus on helping each person get the most from their funding so they can enjoy a safe, meaningful, and connected life.

Its goal is simple: to help people access the supports they need to live an ordinary, fulfilling, and independent life.

When fully implemented, the NDIS will support hundreds of thousands of Australians under the age of 65 who require ongoing assistance.

Eligibility for the NDIS

Check your eligibility

You may be eligible for NDIS funding if:

you are under 65 years of age

you are an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or Protected Special Category Visa holder

you have a permanent and significant disability that impacts daily activities, communication, mobility, or independence

If you currently receive disability services, the NDIA will contact you about transitioning into the scheme.
If you do not receive existing services, you can still apply by completing an Access Request Form through the NDIS.

Your NDIS plan will be shaped around:

your goals

your living situation

your daily support needs

your health requirements

your work, study, and community interests

Some people may need more than one meeting, and that’s completely normal.
